Virtual Room Transformations: Hear Our Clients Experience

Home / 'How to' tips / Virtual Room Transformations: Hear Our Clients Experience

Hi Everyone! This is my first attempt at writing a blog so go easy on me! 😉

We have all had to adjust during this pandemic in one way or another and communicating virtually is one that many of us have had to overcome, including myself!

At the start of the pandemic, our design team knew that to stay connected to homeowners and provide support as our time at home increased and the projects to-do list grew, we needed to pivot and create a virtual E-Design service. We wanted to be able to help homeowners transform their space, all from the comfort and safety of their own home!

For me, design is such a personal expression of yourself and making connections with clients is such an important part to any design process, so trying to build that same relationship virtually has been different. But with that being said, we are 8 months into this pandemic now and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how well you can build an understanding of a person without ever meeting them face to face.

E-design boards are not only a great way to complete decorating projects while being socially distanced, it also offers people that are located anywhere in Ontario to access our services!

We’ve been working very hard to refine and perfect our E-design service to give you an efficient and seamless experience.

We created a 5-step process for our E-design service that does exactly that; discovery, details, creation, review, and order!

1. Discovery

It all starts with a phone call or video call, depending on what you are most comfortable with. The intent behind this call is to get a good understanding of what you’re hoping to achieve for your space, as well as your style preference and lifestyle needs. We not only want to create an aesthetically pleasing space but also one that is going to be functional and practical for your everyday needs.

2. Details

To ensure that we deliver the best possible design, we ask that you send clear photographs from all 4 corners of the room/rooms and detailed dimensions. We will then proceed with creating a quote based off the information that we have gathered; this price will range dependent on the size and amount of rooms.

3. Creation

This step can vary quite a bit from one project to the next as there is never a one size fits all approach when it comes to design. The main factor that will change the approach on your design project, is whether we will be working with existing furnishings or starting from scratch.

Existing Furnishings:
This service focuses on the finishing touches, such as artwork, area rugs, throw pillows and décor. But also, sourcing minimal or accent furniture items to fill in any gaps or to accommodate other needs your current furnishings aren’t fulfilling. We are also able to provide you with a space plan using your current furniture.

Mississauga Family Room E-Design…4 months into the pandemic

Interior decorating schemeFor this project, the homeowner wanted to achieve an elevated look of their current family room, that they use for everyday entertainment, but still blend with the overall style of the home.

During our initial phone call, our client expressed that this room needed to be multifunctional.

Their family room needed to act as a spot for the family to gather and relax together on a daily basis, a space for the kids to do their homework, and for entertainment purposes. To meet their needs, It was important to include multi-purpose furniture items when putting together the overall scheme and space plan. Bringing in ottomans for additional seating when guests are over, or for comfort when lounging and nesting tables that can be easily moved around to accommodate their needs whenever needed.

Here’s what our client had to say about her E-Design experience with us:

“We’re all so happy with the family room and how it turned out.  It’s so beautiful and functional beyond what I could have imagined.  It’s been a pleasure working with you and you were very attentive to all our needs!  It’s amazing how well everything went while communicating all virtually.  You always communicated what was happening even through some of the COVID shipping delays.  Thank you again for everything! – M”

Starting From Scratch:

Whether you have just moved into a new home or just want to start fresh in your current home, this service is perfect for you. You will receive an E-Design board that best suites your needs while working within the parameters of the room.
