Creating a Jillian Harris Inspired Oasis

Hi Everyone, long time no see!

We apologize for the silence over the past few months!

Ever since our last blog post (EEEEK, I think it was 6 months ago…) we have been so very busy and incredibly fortunate to be working on multiple amazing projects. A lot of fun and exciting opportunities in the works over here at Centre Staged, but we are so thrilled to be back writing and sharing our blogs with you.

See what we’ve been up to HERE.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life we tend to get tied up and forget about the important things that lead us to where we are. For us, we began writing back when the company was first started. It was a way to express our creativity and keep our clients up to date on our projects. While the inevitable chaos of life and business kicked in and our team continued to grow, we found less time for writing and unfortunately let it go this past season. With that being said, we are back and feeling refreshed and ready to create!

Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a fantastic client, Laura. Her and her husband had just purchased a newly built home and were in the midst of starting their family; their first little one was on the way! Laura and her husband both work crazy hours, and just simply did not have the time or the energy to finish off a couple key rooms in their home. Specifically, the Master Bedroom.

For those of you who haven’t worked with us before, our first initial meeting always starts with a meet and greet in the home. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, understand how we can help you and get a feel for the space.

When we met with Laura, her husband and her had spent countless hours with their builder picking trim, ceiling details, flooring and everything you can imagine to build the house of their dreams. This gave us the opportunity to work with such an incredible blank slate.

BEFORE

While talking with Laura, we really got the sense that she was drawn to a modern farmhouse interior, inspired by Jillian Harris! Once we knew this, we were off! This is where the fun part really starts. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Jillian Harris, check out her amazing Master Bedroom below. DREAMY, I KNOW!!

Flash forward to a few months from then, we were ready for set up day! This is my absolute favourite part of design. After months of selections and acquiring the perfect pieces, it is such a great feeling to finish off a space and see it all come together. The feeling it gives our clients is always so amazing and makes all the hard work that much more worth it.

For Laura specifically, we wanted to create a space for this new Mama that would be a retreat; somewhere where she could enjoy, relax and be herself.  We knew her “me time” was about to become a more or less extinct, so we wanted to make sure the time she did have, she would be spending in a space she loved.

For this project, we sourced pieces mainly from Pier 1, Urban Barn, and St Jacobs Furniture House. When we can, sourcing locally is always important to us. Not only is it convenient for us to showcase pieces to our clients, we also have so many incredible stores at our front door without having to travel far!

THE BIG REVEAL:

Soft, simple and effortless. Three words I would use to describe this space.

I won’t lie, this was one project I was sad to walk away from. I kind of wished by some string of the imagination, I was able to stay in this space and enjoy it as my own… Haha, I guess it was worth a try! Oh well, looks like I’ll just have to create something similar for myself… and maybe even bring you guys along for the process!

If you or someone you know is struggling to find the time in their busy schedule, but so badly wants a finished space, let us know and we would love to help you! Stress free, with a big reveal at the end…. we are hear to help. CONTACT US!

Until next month, stay updated with us through Instagram, twitter and facebook!

Happy Tuesday! <3
